Dlaczego tekst wizualny, a nie po prostu obraz? W zasadzie są to dla mnie rzeczy bardzo sobie bliskie. Na przykład obraz malarski też jest opisem jakieś (obserwowanej lub wymyślonej) sytuacji, dokonany za pomocą jakiegoś języka (czy systemu znaków).
Najczystszą formą opisu i odniesienia się do rzeczywistości jest ten z zastosowaniem słów. Do takiego też nawiązuję, jednak tutaj interesuje mnie sposób abstrakcyjny ich wykorzystania – niedosłowne użycie słów.
Ciekawi mnie jak słowa łączą się ze światem, jak nabierają cech materialności i stają się obiektami, a ten literalny przekaz, bywa, że staje się drugoplanowy lub nieistotny.
W przypadku pracy „Świat myśli nas” jest inaczej – powtarzana jak mantra fraza staje się drugą warstwą znaczeniową nałożoną na rzeczywistość. Zwielokrotnione, monotonne „świat myśli nas” odbija się jak echo od pustych ścian wnętrza. Jednocześnie sama monotonia porządkuje przestrzeń i ją ustanawia.
W przypadku pracy „Okno”, zainspirowało mnie to właśnie miejsce: okno jest granicą dwóch środowisk: zewnętrznego i wewnętrznego. Dosłownie, ale i metaforycznie, gdyż okno jest taką właśnie silną metaforą. Słowa we wnętrzu gromadzą się jak zeschnięte liście; osadzają się na tej granicy. Są odpadami, naszą nadprodukcją, tworzącym stos nadmiarem. Ale nie są to tylko bezużyteczne odpady, bo z drugiej strony, język (te nagromadzone słowa) daje możliwość stawiania oporu zewnętrznemu światu; możemy dzięki nim go nazywać i oswajać.

“The World Thinks Us”
Multiplied phrase: “the world thinks us” is echoing like a mantra between the walls of a room. The white wall as the simplest and most basic element of an architecture, underlines the effect of echoing words in a silent space.
Entire installation is meant to be merely an intervention in the given order of a place. All the things of everyday use should stay in their places. Boards with mantra are like a lid put over reality - they are just its second layer.
Monotony of a message constitutes the space, gives it a certain order.

“Window”
A window:
- as a border separates us from external reality and constant onrush of the world
- that is why interior is empty and silent in opposition to what is outside (hustle of the city)
- only the collected pile of words is, in a way, a reflection of what takes place outside;
this is the synthesis of external world, that with a sudden draught was forced inside
- words as something real and material can be set against the world
Also, all this situation can be interpreted as an implosion of the world and information inside us physically and metaphorically.
Or the other way: along with the light beaming through the window, we are beamed with particles
of reality.
